WORKSHOP BONES. LIVING-ROOM MANNERS.
Calder wears its construction on the outside: a square-section steel frame left visible under a dark wood top, the way a good workbench does. It suits a desk that already has some character to it - a reclaimed top, a brick wall, a room that is not trying to look like an office. The frame is deliberately overbuilt for what it carries, so it sits dead flat and stays that way. It is the riser for people who like seeing how a thing is put together.
WHY THIS EARNS ITS PLACE ON YOUR DESK
- Exposes a square-section steel frame — which is stiffer than the folded sheet most risers hide under a veneer.
- Tops out at 25kg of capacity — well past what a single large monitor and a desk lamp will ever ask of it.
- Sets four rubber feet into the base — so it grips a timber desk without scratching the finish.
- Opens a deep bay for the keyboard — with the frame clear of the sides so nothing catches on the way in.
- Bolts up in five minutes — frame to deck, four fixings, tool included.
