BOOKENDS THAT DO NOT SLIDE WHEN THE BOOKS LEAN
Most bookends are thin pressed steel that bends backwards the moment you load them, which is the opposite of the one job they have. Grove is folded from a heavier gauge with a long foot that goes under the books, so the weight of the books themselves holds the bookend down. A non-slip strip keeps the pair from walking apart on a smooth shelf. Load them properly and they simply stop being something you think about.
WHY THIS EARNS ITS PLACE ON YOUR DESK
- Folds from a heavier gauge steel — so the upright does not bow backwards under a row of hardbacks.
- Runs a long foot under the books — letting the books' own weight anchor the bookend in place.
- Strips the base with non-slip — which stops the pair walking apart on a lacquered shelf.
- Keeps the profile minimal — so the books read as the object rather than the hardware.
- Ships as a matched pair — both ends in the same finish, no odd-one-out.
